Effects of Smuggling and Human Trafficking Across Borders on Students' Academic Performance in Economics

Smuggling and human trafficking as components of trans-border trading activities occur across the borders many nations globe. The study investigated effects smuggling on students' academic performance in economic concepts Nigeria. is underpinned by Rational Choice Theory within positivism paradigm. was designed using descriptive survey research. Three hundred twenty (320) respondents comprising male female SSII & III students formed sample through stratified random sampling method to select state local governments schools used for this study. Two (2) self-developed instruments, a student's questionnaire (SQTTA) with reliability co-efficient 0.76 Economics Achievement Test (E.A.T.) having 0.84, respectively, were draw information from respondents. Data collected analyzed PPMC Stepwise Regression analysis test research questions raised results revealed that involvement reasonably clothes, tyres, small firearms are strong predictors factors affecting performance.
